Keep an Eye on These Sites

Some days you need a little inspiration, an idea, or a connection with another like-minded Orthodox Christian.  One of the ideal places to find this is in your local parish but we also have communication abilities today unlike at any other time in history to aid us in our journey – especially for the isolated person or family in rural areas.  There are a plethora of great Orthodox sites available to you at the click of a mouse or tap of a key and I’d like to point out a few to you.

Many have found Katherine’s site, Evlogia, a great resource for homeschooling and inspiration. Her writing finds a connection to each reader’s heart and leaves them wanting more.  Her recent debut of Ages of Grace has been a welcomed resource to the Orthodox homeschooling community at large and many are looking forward to future additions to the curriculum.  Whether you’re a homeschooling parent, church school teacher, parent, clergy, or godparent – you’re likely to find a post guiding you to peace and tranquility or an idea. If you’re not already a regular, drop by Katherine’s sites every once in awhile and take a peek.  She never ceases to amaze me with her commitment to her family and her love for all of us as shown in the work she continually shares with all of us.

Work is in progress for the 2012 Orthodox Education Webinar for next February.  You can stop by the conference website from time to time in the next few months to see updated information and a list of speakers as they are confirmed.  Some improvements and changes are in the works to make this coming webinar an even greater success!  I will be contacting potential speakers in September and arranging the schedule for another phenomenal line up of presentations for conference attendees.  We will also be checking in with our 2011 Orthodox Education Webinar grant winner – Saints Peter & Paul in Meriden, CT to hear about their new parish children’s library.

Saint Lydia’s Book Club will be debuting a series of posts by Orthodox writers from various backgrounds. This series promises to be a valuable resource as we hear from other Orthodox Christians why they do what they do.  I’m looking forward to these bi-monthly posts on Melinda’s blog.  I’m also honored and excited to be a part of this series as I contribute a piece in January. Pull up a seat and join us over there starting September 1st!
