Five years ago, I started Illumination Learning with one simple idea – gather together a list of Orthodox resources being developed by parents, teachers, and clergy and share it with others. I built a platform using Ning and WordPress to share this list and through the past five years, literally thousands of people have found and used the website.
I’ve watched. I’ve listened. I’ve chatted. I’ve experimented. I’ve tweaked.
In an effort to mold Illumination Learning into an even more useful tool, I have been creating a completely new site which I hope to unveil in late Spring of 2014. We will be saying goodbye to features rarely used and welcoming some new features. The new site will have the current, archived resources along with additional, never before seen resources. It will also have revised and improved search options to help you find resources with greater ease and speed.
One of the new search options will enable you to look for a resource developed by your favorite author. That’s right! There will be resources available from a list of different authors! So…as I’m putting the finishing touches on the new and improved Illumination Learning, I’m searching for parents, teachers, and clergy who have created an Orthodox lesson, activity, project, video, or other resource that you would like to share with others. It can be something you put together for your home, classroom, homeschool, retreat, or summer camp.
Please send your resource to firstname.lastname@example.org and include the following, as applicable:
- Name of Author (Individual or Group, as applies)
- Title for the resource
- Attach the resource(s) to the email (preferably in a pdf format)
- Attach any photos you may have of people using your resource (jpg and png images are preferred. Please ask permission to use these photos on the website if they are not of your immediate family. Also, please do not use photos or icons that you have copy and pasted from someone else’s website. You need permission to use them – even icons – if you did not take the photos yourself.)
- A short summary explaining the resource
